Hey All!!
This post is short and sweet and a little random.
Some of you may remember the series I started about two years ago called
"A Year of Books" (explanation here)
ANYWAY, I fell off the the reading/taking pictures of books bandwagon for a little while and I figured it was time to pick it up again.
Main reasons I think this series is totally brilliant:
1 - the reward of taking pictures is what motivates me to read
2 - I hate reading but I think that it expands your mind and makes you a more well rounded person. Therefore, I feel that reading is important.....but I hate it (see 1)
3 - I like taking some as simple as a book and trying to make it visually interesting...ooohh, the challenge
4 - it forces me to go out and just shoot SOMETHING
5 - I think it refines my photography skill
6 - I hate reading
7 - I like taking pictures
8 - but I hate reading
9 - the end
I have no idea how I ended up shooting The Catcher in the Rye in the location I did. Initially I had different intentions but isn't that the beauty of exploring? You never really end up where you intended to go.
In downtown SLC there is an antique shop called Jitterbug Antiques - it's incredible!
There is stuff EVERYWHERE in that place....so fun to walk through!!
There is so much stuff, in fact, that it is spilling outside onto the sidewalk in front of the store.
This "spillage" caught my eye...so that is where this shoot took place.
I LOVE EXPLORING!!
I know that I should give some kind of synopsis of how I felt about the book, but we all know this isn't a blog about books so I will give you the shortest book review ever!
**At first I didn't get it. So I didn't really like it. Then one of my friends explained that it is supposed to be funny and throw around a little bit of attitude. Then I understood it. Then I really liked it. I even laughed out loud at a few parts.
If you've read this book, let me know what you thought in the comments!
Shoot ya later :)
