Hey Everyone!
I am so excited about this post!
Sit down and get cozy...I'm going to tell you a little story.
A little while back, when Sweetcheeks and I were just dating, we took a trip to a magical place. Now, by the site of it, this little town wasn't all that magical...but throw in an adorable southern boy and a romantic weekend getaway and all of the sudden you have the most magical town on earth.
Sweetcheeks and I met when he was living with my brother in Colorado Springs. I met him in the summer of 2011 while I was visiting my brother and sister. We didn't start dating until a few months later. He first contacted me in September of 2011. We started regularly talking on the phone and skype-ing usually for hours at a time. It was wonderful. I already had two trips planned for Colorado Springs that December (before this wonderful boy was in the picture). This was going to be the first time I spent time with him in person since we began talking. I had a lot of family obligations for those two visits (my sister had just had a baby so that was the main reason for the trips). I wasn't able to spend as much time with him as I would have liked. :(
On the second visit in December he decided to buy a plane ticket to visit me in Feb. I was a tad bit surprised (read: shocked) by his desire to see me. I mean, this guy is ADORABLE and he wants to hang out with ME?! He must be insane....or maybe he's a criminal....or maybe he's actually in love with my sister and this was how he was going to get close to her. Or MAYBE............he liked me.
Like, r e a l l y liked me.
Wait, no.
That's probably not it.
Let's revisit the "in love with my sister" thing.
Anyway, he had a plan to visit me in February but was just so over the stars and moon and universe and galaxy that he HAD to see me before then.......I embellished his "over-ness" a little, just ignore that.
In January, he came up with the most romantic, dreamy, romantic comedy worthy idea EVER!
He suggested that we take a weekend and meet halfway between Salt Lake City and Colorado. Do you see where I'm going with this?
This amazing, knock my socks off, I never thought this would happen to me, I'm gonna have Sandra Bullock play my part when this gets made into a movie weekend happened in, you guessed it,
GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO!!!!!!
I'm telling you....this little town has charm coming out of it's wazoo (just look at those shop signs...brilliant). Now just add a smidgen of snow on the ground, a hint frost in the air, a dollop of seriously-this-is-happening-to-me?, and a dash of love-of-my-life and VOILA - you have one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.
We had a fantastic time exploring this little town together.
Ever since my first visit I knew I would come back to Grand Junction to photograph it.
Sweetcheeks and I always talk about making it a annual tradition to visit Grand Junction...maybe for anniversaries or birthdays. I suppose that we will. Both of us absolutely adore this little town.
I am so excited to share a glimpse of this place with you. It is a very special place to me.
Enjoy!
Shoot ya Later :)
