I Present: Alliance House!

Hey All!
I was privileged to do a photo shoot for Alliance House!
This nonprofit organization is a m a z i n g
From their website:
"As a means of fulfilling its mission, Alliance House establishes a regular work-ordered day for Members, who serve voluntarily. All Members are encouraged to assume a role in the daily functioning of the clubhouse as they work toward re-integration within the greater community. This includes participation in the areas of housing, education, Member services, colleague training, house maintenance, culinary services, securing employment, and even serving on the Alliance House Board of Directors and related committees.
By participating in the day-to-day operations of Alliance House within various Units, Members not only gain practical knowledge and skills, they experience the sense of accomplishment and increased self-esteem that comes with being active and productive Members of the organization, which in-turn expands to society at large. Hundreds of former Members of Alliance House have gone on to live independent, productive lives within Salt Lake City and other communities."
If you are looking for an organization to donate to, I would highly.....very highly....like sky-highly...is that a thing? Well it is now.
I would sky-highly suggest you take a closer look at Alliance House.
This amazing organization is making a true difference in Salt Lake City. Just take a look at the Members Stories:
“I am a Member of Alliance House, and I want to give thankfulness for the opportunity to live in Alliance House property. Alliance House is just up the street from where I live. It’s my comfort zone and most of the time there is someone I can talk to. At Alliance House, they’ve given me an education and employment training. I am better able to take care of myself with the support of staff and others, and I’ve made new friends.” Michael G.
“At the age of 11, I was diagnosed with a deadly brain tumor that nearly took my life. With great luck and many blessings, my tumor was removed. However, severe headaches and epilepsy caused severe depression, anxiety and suicide attempts. That required a great deal of therapy, anti-depression medication and ECT treatment. I see a therapist weekly where I am able to talk about my problems. I am now able to go to a place called Alliance House, where I am able to be among friends and not worry about my problems anymore.” Chris O.
“I graduated in business from Montana State University and moved to Salt Lake where I worked for eight years at a local bank. Then bipolar disorder struck, leaving me jobless and homeless. Now a Member of Alliance House, I’ve increased my skills, obtained a job, and moved into an apartment. I receive staff support, make friends, and am constructive when I attend Alliance House. It’s made a huge positive difference for me.” Steve L.
Seriously though, what an amazing way to positively impact the community!
Giving people who deal with mental illness and may struggle to meet the demands of daily life a constructive support system where they can learn job and life skills. This is a brilliant way to give a sense of accomplishment and pride...because there IS accomplishment. The members are very actively involved in the happenings at Alliance House. They are given responsibilities and are expected to fulfill all of those responsibilities. I love the idea of this organization because it does not promote getting something for nothing. That never works. Giving people something without them having to do anything at is ALWAYS a bad idea. My mom told me to never say always but in this case I totally can. It's ALWAYS a bad idea. Well, just giving people stuff is not what Alliance House is doing. They are teaching skills - useful and applicable to life skills.
It's wonderful.
It's powerful.
It's effective.
I hope you take the time to visit the website and possibly even contribute.
Thank you all so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the pictures!!
Shoot ya Later :)
